Southern California Annual Carbon-Offset Purchase Program

Greenwave Energy's Southern California natural-gas service does not include Renewable Energy Certificates and does not change the physical natural gas delivered through the SoCalGas distribution system. Natural-gas combustion at the customer's premises produces greenhouse-gas emissions.

Following the applicable annual usage period, Greenwave calculates estimated carbon dioxide emissions associated with the customer's billed natural-gas consumption and purchases a corresponding quantity of voluntary carbon offsets in the customer's name. A carbon offset represents a claimed reduction or removal of greenhouse-gas emissions outside the customer's premises. Purchasing an offset does not prevent the emissions produced when the customer burns natural gas.

Greenwave Energy does not purchase carbon offsets from the same project every year. We calculate the customer's usage and then purchase what we need after a year of usage. • Zero-emission, emissions-free, clean, or renewable natural gas.
• 100% offset unless the exact coverage and retirement are proven.
• Reduces emissions from the customer's home or changes the gas delivered.
• REC or Renewable Energy Certificate in Southern California.
